The GenoHotels in Forsbach and Baunatal are continuing their commitment to sustainability and have published their Corporate Carbon Footprints for 2025. In cooperation with ClimatePartner, the emissions of both properties were once again recorded and analysed in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (Scopes 1–3). The results provide a transparent basis for implementing targeted measures to further reduce emissions.

At GenoHotel Forsbach the almost exclusive use of renewable electricity results in very low emissions from energy consumption. Overall, the property recorded 685,150 kg of CO₂, or 21.26 kg per overnight stay. Sustainability has also been further integrated into the food and beverage offering: the proportion of meat-based dishes has been reduced, while the range of vegetarian and vegan options has been expanded.

Further measures are planned for the coming years. These include reducing the proportion of meat on menus, electrifying the company vehicle fleet and offering guests the opportunity to offset CO₂ emissions associated with their stay or event. Employees and guests will also be increasingly encouraged to engage with topics such as food waste, laundry consumption and energy efficiency.

By regularly measuring and reporting their carbon footprint, the GenoHotels are establishing a continuous improvement process and making their sustainability efforts transparent and tangible for event planners and corporate clients.
