The exhibition center’s former office building, which previously housed the police contact point, was demolished in autumn 2025. Since then, mobile police patrol teams have been deployed across the exhibition grounds.
“Our cooperation with Cologne’s security and public order authorities has always been close and based on trust. We are therefore all the more pleased to once again provide modern facilities on our premises for police officers to carry out their work. Their on-site presence ensures short distances and supports the important work of the officers in safeguarding our events and our customers,” says Gerald Böse, CEO of Koelnmesse GmbH.
Cologne Police will operate the new premises during trade fairs.
Police President Johannes Hermanns emphasizes: “With the contact point located directly on the exhibition grounds, we are strengthening our visible presence and ensuring short response times whenever the police are needed. Especially at large-scale, including international, events, it is crucial to be immediately accessible on security matters and, if necessary, to initiate the appropriate investigative steps without delay—for example in cases of theft. I therefore very much welcome the close cooperation with Koelnmesse.”
