As of 1 January 2027, Koelnmesse will permanently integrate Design Post Cologne into its exhibition and event architecture. Its subsidiary Koelncongress will be responsible for marketing and operations.

Design Post Cologne is undergoing a structural realignment: the long-standing showroom concept will end on 31 December 2026. From 1 January 2027, Koelnmesse will take over operations and incorporate the listed venue into its existing trade fair and event portfolio. Interior design formats will continue to be hosted at the site.

“We are delighted to welcome Design Post into our portfolio and to offer another centrally located venue for trade fair and congress guests as well as guest organisers,” says Gerald Böse, President and Chief Executive Officer of Koelnmesse. Together with Rheinterrassen, Tanzbrunnen, Gürzenich, Confex and Flora, the location will broaden the range of event formats available.

With more than 3,000 square metres of indoor space and an additional outdoor area, the venue will be available for corporate events, social gatherings, pop-up exhibitions, large-scale events and smaller consumer fairs. It complements the exhibition halls with a flexible setting for project-based formats.

For over 20 years, Design Post has served as a platform for international brands in the furniture and interior design industry. “We thank all tenants, partners and companions for their long-standing commitment,” says founder and owner Wim van Ast.

From 2027 onwards, Koelncongress GmbH will manage both operations and commercial marketing. The venue will be open to external organisers as well as for Koelnmesse’s own event formats, creating additional space for new concepts within Cologne’s MICE landscape.
