59th Scientific Conference of the German-speaking Mycological Society

Annual meeting
Congresses

We are very pleased to welcome you to MYK25 – the 59th Scientific Conference of the German-Speaking Mycological Society (DMykG) – from September 4th to 6th, 2025 in Cologne!

This year's conference is dedicated to a variety of current topics: from the use of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis of fungal infections to strategies for preventing biofilms, from personalized prophylaxis strategies to innovative therapeutic approaches using pipeline substances or immunotherapies, including for our pediatric patients.

Current trends in resistance development and strategies to control Candida auris will also be intensively discussed. Thus, MYK25 offers a comprehensive overview of the range of medical mycology – from molecular mechanisms to clinical practice reality.

The program highlights include keynote lectures by international experts Arnaldo Colombo (São Paulo, Brazil), Ferry Hagen (Nijmegen, Netherlands), and Arunaloke Chakrabarti (Chandigarh, India), as well as the joint symposium of the DMykG with the Dutch Society for Medical Mycology (NVMM) providing well-founded insights into current developments in medical mycology.

Thanks to the support of our industry partners, you can also look forward to exciting industry symposia developed with Basilea, Gilead, Mundipharma, Pfizer, and Shionogi, focusing on innovative and practical approaches in diagnostics and therapy.

The scientific program is complemented by numerous networking opportunities: A tour "On the Roofs of the Cologne Cathedral" as well as a tour "Under the Cathedral" open up new perspectives on the landmark of the city. At the social evening in the traditional Cologne brewery directly on the Rhine, there is the opportunity to meet this year's award winners while enjoying Rhenish cuisine and Kölsch beer.
