Experiencing science

The science behind a long and healthy life

On May 17, 2025, Research Day invites you to experience aging and metabolism research up close—with lectures, tours, and hands-on stations.

The CECAD Excellence Cluster, the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Aging, and the Max Planck Institute for Metabolism Research offer exciting insights into aging and metabolism research.

Why do we age? How do metabolism, genes, and the environment influence our lifespan? What role does our diet play? And can we prevent diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, or cancer by intervening in the aging process? Scientists will explore these and many other questions.

Research Day offers the opportunity to accompany top researchers into their laboratories, learn about innovative equipment and techniques, and experiment for yourself.

Whether interactive stations for children and young people, insights into the latest technologies, or direct exchanges with researchers—the program offers something for everyone.

The event thrives on the active participation and curiosity of all visitors—from students and employees to anyone interested in the future of health research.
