The aim is to integrate Design Post more closely into trade fair and congress events as an exceptional event location – including for external formats. This will also benefit the MICE industry in Cologne.
Under the new cooperation agreement, the Design Post premises will be used regularly for trade fair events, customer events and congresses in future. External organisers will also have the opportunity to rent space at Design Post via Koelncongress. In future, all marketing of Design Post as an event location will be handled by the trade fair subsidiary. However, Design Post will remain the contractual partner for tenants.
‘We are delighted to be working even more closely with Design Post and to be able to offer another venue that is easily accessible for all trade fair visitors,’ says Gerald Böse, Chairman of the Management Board of Koelnmesse. This partnership is a real asset, especially with regard to new, urban event formats such as idd cologne.
Wim van Ast, Managing Director of Design Post, emphasises: ‘Joining forces has always been an essential part of Design Post Cologne's DNA – this is how we enable brands, design professionals and experts in the creative industry to network and collaborate.’
Design Post is currently home to 35 renowned companies, which present their installations in a listed industrial hall covering more than 3,500 square metres. As a networking centre for the design and creative scene, it offers a special ambience for events with high standards of aesthetics and sustainability.
