“Throughout the event, we catered for 15 brandhouse partners at different locations and an exclusive VIP area with a wide variety of food concepts, live cooking stations and drinks. We also had 15 food trucks in operation and catered for 3,000 guests at the Fantastischen Vier concert. Those are amazing numbers. In line with the nominated DIGITAL X megatrend, the caterer's focus was on sustainability. With the PAPSTAR “pure” range and the zero-waste concept for the entire closed area, the disposable tableware was not only biodegradable and recyclable, but could also be returned to the material cycle and thus recycled. “The biggest challenge for us here was certainly the logistics: with an intelligent two-part return system via our return stations and service staff, the used disposable tableware was collected in sturdy paper bags and taken to the bio-converter. That was quite a feat considering the volume,” says Stephanie Forstner, Sustainability Officer at lemonpie.
