The Cologne Convention Bureau (CCB) has been an official partner of the German Sport University Cologne since 2013. At the German Sport University Cologne, many of our scientific institutes and especially our University Marketing Department have been successfully cooperating with the CCB for many years.
One of the University Marketing Department’s important responsibilities is the professional planning, organization and implementation of various central university events. These include the regular welcoming events for the students who are beginning their first semester, the Campus Days (open days for potential students), Graduation Day and the Cologne Sport Science Evenings. In addition, there are visits to vocational training fairs and one-off special events such as the Science Slam World Cup, during which scientists creatively presented their research results on stage.
In the past, the CCB has optimally complemented our work in many areas, especially with regard to the organization of these university events. One goal shared by both institutions is to strengthen Cologne as a centre of science, and the cooperation with the CCB can help us achieve this aim.
For example, as part of our event series Cologne Sport Science Evenings, we work together very closely in the area of communication. The CCB announces and advertises the dates of our science evenings in the CCB newsletter and on its event pages on the Internet. These measures provide information about our events, as well as other multifaceted topics in sports science, to a very large group of recipients who are important to us. In addition, our cooperation with the CCB enables us to develop high-quality event media and to distribute them to all of the guests during the Cologne Sport Science Evenings.
We are happy to make use of the CCB’s services for other event formats as well. For example, the CCB makes courtesy gifts and a variety of information materials available to us or gives us advice during our selection process. As a result, at our events we can always make a good connection with Cologne as a scientific location and optimally integrate it into the programme and present it to our target groups. As part of the Science Slam World Cup 2018, the CCB helped us design an appealing supporting programme for all of the participants, most of whom came from abroad.
We greatly appreciate the CCB’s professional cooperation with us. For us, the CCB’s services are frequently the missing puzzle pieces that enable us to present a successful overall image. That’s why we will gladly continue to make use of the CCB’s services, which are supportive and free of charge, in the future.
