The catering company receives awards for Dank Augusta and Haus Diepental as best outdoor gastronomy.

At the GEVA AWARD DER GASTFREUNDSCHAFT (GEVA Award for Hospitality) ceremony, the Cologne-based company Kirberg Catering was awarded first place in the category ‘Most Attractive Outdoor Catering’.

The award went to the two outdoor locations operated by Kirberg, Dank Augusta (opened in Cologne in 2014) and Haus Diepental (launched in Leichlingen in 2021), which impressed with their innovative picnic concept, sustainable cuisine and genuine hospitality.
‘An all-round harmonious outdoor experience that combines modern catering with attitude,’ said Andreas Vogel, spokesperson for the GEVA management. As a member of the jury, Vogel praised the interplay of creative cuisine, resource-saving implementation and a hospitable atmosphere.

Under the motto ‘Pick something out,’ Dank Augusta and Haus Diepental offer freshly prepared food in jars. Salads, cakes, soups and more are available at the kiosk and are packed into picnic bags by the service staff. Guests then find a nice spot on the terrace or order via an app and have their food and drinks brought to their table.

‘We are delighted to receive this award – we will pass it on to the team! With Dank Augusta in the Botanical Garden and Haus Diepental in Leichlingen, we have created two places where young and old feel at home: casual, hospitable and contemporary,’ comments Jutta Kirberg, managing partner, ‘and we congratulate our strong competitors.’

The prize was awarded at the GEVA annual conference in Berlin by a high-calibre jury comprising representatives from the catering, hotel and franchise management sectors. Kirberg Catering prevailed against two strong competitors, Liebesbier Restaurant & Bar from Bayreuth (2nd place) and Reuners Hofgarten in the Spreewald (3rd place).
